Ware is a good example of effective use of modern technologies.
They put drones inside warehouses. The drones depart on a schedule, go each to an assigned section of the warehouse, scan the shelves, and return. This way you can be cross-checking your inventory all the time.
I’ve been maintaining that truly autonomous vehicles are infeasible. This doesn’t mean technologies such as computer vision aren’t useful—they are both amazing and useful. Here we have drones in a controlled environment (a warehouse), with signs to guide them, so that they go around and do their job.
If we convert our motorways to be completely controlled, that is, make them with automated vehicles in mind, we may achieve driverless on the motorway. But we can’t achieve truly autonomous (level 5) vehicles.
